This fun project was inspired by my own children. Every time I printed out one of my biography coloring pages, they would cut them out and have an impromptu puppet show. My third grader especially grasped on to the historical significance of each figure and added in her own historical fiction. It was actually really entertaining. To take it up a notch, we added craft sticks and turned a couple of cereal boxes into this theatre stage.
I’m kind of addicted to creating these coloring pages. So much so, that I’m up to over 125 now! I have plans for over 50 more before the end of the school year. It’s kind of a task, so I make about 10 per month and add them to my store individually as well as my BIG bundle. My elementary-aged kids love them and each seems to take something different away from the little biography that accompanies each one. Lots of times, we find extra books and sometimes even movies to really round out these characters.
While my little ones were coloring, my big girl and I snuck off to the dining room where most of our homeschooling happens to start on the stage. From start to finish, it took about an hour to create.
This would be a great project for a teacher’s assistant or homeroom mom to work on. This FREE set includes three exclusive coloring pages not found anywhere else in my store (Edna Lewis, Tim Berners Lee, and Edvard Munch), directions to build your stage, labels to decorate your project, and a script. Hope you have fun with this!
