Hi, I’m Elle. I’m dually certified in English and social studies. While I’ve taken a little break from the classroom, I keep on the up and up with my store through Teachers Pay Teachers. My store frequently makes an appearance on the Top 100 seller’s list for middle school and I’m currently the #10 seller in my state. In addition, I’ve been featured on the TpT blog and weekly newsletter.
My resources are a good combination of everything I’ve experienced in my career in education – textbook editing and development, graphic design, public school teaching, and online instruction. At this point, my resources are spread across thousands of classrooms all around the world. When I stop and really think about it, my mind is completely blown!
My personal style of teaching is relaxed, but guided. I lean toward project-based learning methods with a high emphasis on open journaling. Information just sticks better when students are allowed to make their own predictions and opinions on a variety of topics. This may not work so well with math, but it definitely works with English and social studies!
Through this blog, I hope to provide you with a variety of ideas on making your classroom a bit more laid back and not so focused on testing (if that’s you). I was in a testing classroom and I honestly still have nightmares about it. My hope is that one day, standardized tests will be a thing of the past so teachers can get back to doing what they do best! In the meantime, there’s lots of ways to add some variety to your lessons and your day despite the inevitable.
Be sure to sign up for my newsletter! I’ll share lots of freebies and let you know when new resources are released.
